Frequently asked questions
Which format should I choose?
WebP is widely supported by browsers and usually much smaller than JPG or PNG. AVIF is often even smaller but takes longer to encode and is not supported by every older program. JPG works everywhere.
Can I convert HEIC or GIF?
Not at the moment. Only JPG, PNG, WebP and AVIF are accepted, because those are the formats we can process reliably.
Is transparency preserved?
Yes for PNG, WebP and AVIF. JPG has no transparency, so transparent areas become white.
