Who runs this site, how the file tools work and why your files never leave your device.
What we do
We build free online tools for everyday file tasks: merging, splitting, compressing, protecting and signing PDFs, making scans searchable with OCR, and compressing and converting images, videos and audio. The tools run in your browser with established open-source engines compiled to WebAssembly – pdf-lib, PDFium and qpdf for PDFs, Tesseract for text recognition, MozJPEG, libwebp and libavif for images, Mediabunny with your browser's own video and audio codecs – so results are real conversions, not previews.
How your files are handled
Your files are processed on your own device and are never uploaded to us or anyone else. We cannot see, store or delete them. Results exist only in your browser tab until you close it. Files are never used for advertising, analytics or AI training.
How the service is funded
The tools are free to use without an account. The site is financed by advertising, which is shown only in clearly labelled areas and never next to upload or download buttons.
Honest results
We show the real size before and after. If a file cannot be made smaller, we say so and return your original instead of a larger file. Limits for file size and duration are stated on every tool page.
